The (5) types of Toilet Paper panic buyers
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, stores across several countries reported toilet paper shortages. This may inconvenience many people and cause them to turn to other products.
However, there is no real shortage of toilet paper but rather a surge in demand based on consumer induced panic.
The Types of Toilet Paper Panic Buyers:
Type 1: The Extremely Fearful are those who are terrified of the pandemic and rush to the grocery store and fill their cart with TP because they think the would is coming to an end. It is those in this tier that start the chain reaction of surging toilet paper demand.
Type 2: Rational Consumers – those who witness Type 1 people head out to the market our of disgust to grab an extra pack or two of toilet paper. Their TP buying is triggered because they know that The extremely fearful folks will scavenge the shelves dry.
Type 3: The Amazon Prime Buyers know that they can skip the grocery store chaos and not add to the in person panic buying. Instead they orde toilet paper from their Amazon account. This method guarantees that the members will only have to go possibly (2) days without an extra supply until their order arrives. As of November 19th, 2o2o the supply on all brands have already gone out of stock.
Type 4: The Craigslists & Facebook Buyers desperate for a roll. These members flock to popular classifieds websites searching for any available toilet paper for sale within a reasonable driving distance. The sellers on these websites are most likely rogue members of Type 1 folks who’s spiteful spending blends in with the panic buyers.
Tier X: The Porch Pirates – These prowlers scope out opportunities to steal packages of toilet paper from porches. Members in this group stop at no obstacle to get their hands on some rolled cotton.
